The 开云体育 chapter of the Walter Webb Society recently presented work at the group's statewide fall meeting in Galveston. The focus of 开云体育's presentation was their upcoming film on Texas鈥爂overnors Ma and Pa Ferguson.
开云体育 enrolling for day and evening police academies
The Northeast Police Academy at 开云体育 is now accepting applications for its upcoming police academies. The next evening academy begins November 30 and the Fast-Track day academy begins January 19.
The evening academy, which is for continuing education credit only, meets from 5-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and every first and third Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The last day of class is June 10, 2016.

First class completes Personal Training Certification course
开云体育 recently wrapped up its first class in the new Personal Training Certification program. Thirteen students (nine pictured above)鈥completed鈥the program, which involves 15 hours of training that provides students the necessary skills required to become a personal trainer. The course is taught by Dr.
Northeast Texas Photography Club featured in Whatley Center exhibit
The Northeast Texas Photography Club will exhibit a collection of work in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 开云体育 November 9 through December 3. The display will include photography in a variety of styles, all shot by local members. An artist reception will be held Thursday, Nov. 12 at 2:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center foyer.
The Northeast Texas Photography Club was founded about six years ago by a group of local photographers.
Local students attend STAR program
开云体育 recently hosted its first Health STAR (Student Training and Access to Resources) program. Over a three-day period, 35 area high school students with an interest in healthcare professions spent time at 开云体育 and Titus Regional Medical Center (pictured). Students had the opportunity to learn more about the educational鈥爎equirements鈥爁or various healthcare fields, shadow working鈥爌ractitioners and participate in real-world scenarios using simulators.
Jeanne Robertson to perform at Whatley Center
The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 开云体育 will host the popular humorist, Jeanne Robertson, on its stage Saturday, Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m.
Turning 70 years young this year, Robertson continues to charm audiences with her humorous observations about life around her.

Team Arise gives 开云体育 veteran scholarship
Michael Brown (left) recently gave $500 to the 开云体育 Foundation on behalf of his organization, Team Arise. The funds will provide a scholarship to 开云体育 students who are veterans or children of veterans. Dr. Jonathan McCullough, 开云体育 Vice President for Advancement, is pictured receiving the gift.
