The Health Sciences and Continuing Education departments at ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý are†pleased to announce the offering of a Community Health Worker Certification program starting Jan. 12, 2015.

The Community Health Worker curriculum provides study in chronic disease knowledge, patient resources, and teaching skills.

Dr. Melissa Weinbrenner, ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý†Associate Professor of History and Division Chair of Social Sciences, was recently chosen to serve as a 2015 Phi Theta Kappa Faculty Scholar.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Presidential Scholar, Kayleah Cumpian, of Mount Pleasant, narrowly edged out a junior from John Brown University to become the 2015 Student Representative of the Great Plains Honors Council (GBHC). She succeeds another former ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Presidential Scholar, Matthew Jordan, now a member of Texas Tech Honors.† This is the first time in the recorded 40-year history of the GPHC that the foremost student position of the association passed from one student to another of the same community college.
