The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Foundation recently received a donation of $10,000 from Texas Heritage National Bank (THNB). The funds will be used to endow the Sid Greer Memorial Honors Scholarship at ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý. Pictured, John Bryan (left) presents the check to Dr. Jon McCullough, ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Executive Vice President for Advancement, on behalf of THNB. Greer, who passed away in December 2024, served on the ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Board of Trustees faithfully for 23 years. During that time he served as Board Secretary for 12 years.  

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý students who will graduate in May 2025 and plan to transfer to a four-year university this fall are encouraged to apply for the International Sulphur Transfer Scholarship. Seven recipients will receive $1,500 each. This scholarship is designated for eligible students who have a minimum 3.0 GPA and are completing their ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý studies this spring.

The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Foundation recently received $15,000 in donations contributing to the Christiansen/Stanley Family Scholarship for Agriculture. The scholarship is awarded annually to ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý students pursuing their education in agriculture.

The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Foundation recently received a check for $10,000 from the estate of the late Pat Sistrunk. The funds will be added to the David Sistrunk Memorial Scholarship. This endowed scholarship is available for students who participate in the Work4College program. The unique Work4College program allows students to work at the college and other locations to contribute to their college expenses in advance.

The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Foundation recently received a check for $10,000 from the estate of the late Pat Sistrunk. The funds will be added to the Michael and Nolan Memorial Scholarship to make it a fully-endowed award. Scholarship applications for Fall 2025 are currently open and students who apply will be considered for all foundation awards, including the Michael and Nolan Memorial Scholarship.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter received the college’s first-ever Humanities Texas grant, a state subsidiary of the National Endowment of the Humanities. The $2,000 grant will be used to create a mini-documentary about folklore specific to the northeastern Texas region.

The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Foundation recently received a check for $18,074 from Jerry Hearron on behalf of the Mount Pleasant Community Fund. The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Foundation hosted its annual Scholarship Brunch on Friday, Nov. 1st in the Student Union Building. More than 200 donors, scholarship recipients and guests attended. The event is held to honor scholarship recipients and give them a chance to connect with the generous donors who make their awards possible. Click here to view/download event photos!

The ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý Foundation held its annual business meeting on Tuesday, April 16th in the Community Room on the ¿ªÔÆÌåÓý campus. This is the one time each year that the Foundation Board gathers to address actions item and hear reports from various departments and subcommittees.
