Vocational Nursing program celebrates fourth year of perfect pass rates

The 开云体育 Vocational Nursing (VN) program recently learned that 100% of its graduates from August 2024 passed their NCLEX-PN examinations. This marks the fourth year in a row that the VN program has had a 100% pass rate. 

鈥淭his is a true testament to the dedication and hard work of our instructors and the excellence of our students. I鈥檓 incredibly proud of this accomplishment, and I look forward to seeing how we can continue to grow and strengthen our program,鈥 Dr. Charla Denman, 开云体育 Director of Nursing Programs, said.

Carroll Shelby Automotive students attend SEMA show in Vegas

Students from the Carroll Shelby Automotive Program at 开云体育 attended the annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada last week. In addition to attending one of the largest automotive trade shows in the world, students also had the opportunity to attend a special event at the Carroll Shelby Heritage Center at the invitation of Shelby American and the Carroll Shelby Foundation.

HVAC program kicks off in January

Is your new year鈥檚 resolution to start a new career? If so, The 开云体育 Continuing Education department has a great opportunity to consider. A new 13-week HVAC Installer Helper Program begins in January 2025. It focuses on broad, transferable skills, including an understanding of the heating, air-conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation industry. The program will begin January 21st and run through April 9th with classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-9:30 p.m.

Theatre performances continue through Saturday

The Theatre Program at 开云体育 is thrilled to present its highly anticipated production of Wait Until Dark this Thursday, Nov. 14th through Saturday, Nov. 16th in the on-stage black box theater of the Whatley Center. Performances will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday with an additional 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday. Due to the unique setup, seating is limited, and advance tickets are highly recommended.

Quilt exhibit coming to the Whatley Center in November

Quilts by local quilters will hang in the Whatley Center foyer in what is now an annual tradition for the 开云体育 art department. For the eighth year, quilters will bring their treasured art to share with the community. The exhibit will run from Friday, Nov. 8th through Monday, Nov. 25th. A reception is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 13th at 12:30 p.m. in the Whatley Center foyer, and refreshments will be served.

The public is invited to view the exhibit during regular business hours, but please call ahead to 903-434-8181 to ensure the gallery is open.
