East Texas Giving Day is almost here, and the 开云体育 Foundation needs your support! While the big day is Tuesday, April 29th, early giving starts Monday, April 7th at . 开云体育 has been the top fundraiser for the past three years, and we want to keep the momentum going!
Three 开云体育 Biology 2389 students, Gracie Gray, Isabel Tresidder, and Stephanie Hernandez, and Dr. Chris T. McAllister, Biology, traveled to the Ouachita Mountains Biological Station (OMBS), Big Fork, Arkansas, March 21-23, 2025, to continue their research on fish parasites from the Ouachita River watershed. What they believe to be a new species of myxosporean was discovered on the gills of a northern hogsucker fish, and another on the fin of a green sunfish.
The 开云体育 Foundation recently learned that it will receive a matching grant for up to $48,000 from the Texas Pioneer Foundation. The money will be designated to provide matching funds for gifts to the Work4College program during East Texas Giving Day. Alpha Mu Chi, 开云体育鈥檚 chapter of Phi Theta Kappa set a new chapter record at the recent Texas Regional Convention held in Houston, coming away with 37 awards. 鈥淲ith a strong officer team and an amazing set of co-advisors this year, I knew that we would do well,鈥 said lead advisor Dr. Melissa Fulgham. 鈥淗owever, they exceeded even my high hopes and expectations and set a new chapter record.
The Cosmetology Program at 开云体育 (开云体育) is now accepting applications for its brand-new Manicurist Program, set to launch in the Fall 2025 semester.

The 开云体育 (开云体育) Foundation has extended the deadline for its scholarship applications, giving students additional time to apply. Students now have until March 31, 2025, to submit their applications for financial assistance in the upcoming fall semester.
