First Generation
(no longer produced)
There is no auto shutoff. .
The battery needs to be replaced when "LB" (low battery) appears on the
display.
Do not continue to operate unit with "LB" showing or it kills the gauge.
You have been warned..
Gauge will not survive liquids. Fries the electronics
Tip: Wrap a plastic bag around the gauge and tie wrap it at the
fitting. This will keep errant moisture out but still let you turn it on and off.
Range: 0-99.9lbs
There is a zero adjust screw on the back just above the on/off switch.
Since this gauge reads in "tenths" it requires a light touch to zero.
Practice will help.
Failure to zero gauge will affect test accuracy.
Zero feature means that zero is always zero, whether at Denver or the
Beach.
Observation: The more this gauge is used the steadier the zero seems to
get.
Do not mount permanently on car. Vibration will kill it.
To replace battery: Squeeze sides of battery cover to remove battery.
When disconnecting wire from battery, roll the connector off sideways
with your thumb pushing on both terminals at once.
. If you pull off one terminal at a time, you may earn yourself a trip to
radio shack for a new connector.
Stuff:
Sometimes when you shutoff the fuel pump you will see a negative
number. This would be normal. If you crack the line and let atmosphere in
it will likely go back to true zero as the zero is set to the atmosphere
around you .
Treat this as a test gauge and you should get years of service or treat it
as a lug nut and expect to buy another one.
