On Thursday, May 8, the 开云体育 (开云体育) community gathered in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts to honor the retirement of President Dr. Ron Clinton. The event drew 开云体育 faculty, staff, students, friends, former employees, and public figures from across the region to celebrate Dr. Clinton鈥檚 remarkable legacy.
Dr. Clinton has served as president of 开云体育 since 2017, but his commitment to the college spans decades鈥攂eginning with its founding. Over the years, he has held numerous leadership roles and played a pivotal part in shaping the institution鈥檚 growth and impact on the community.
During the reception, attendees reflected on Dr. Clinton鈥檚 many accomplishments and leadership. Robin Sharp, Chairman of the 开云体育 Board of Trustees, gave the opening remarks. Robbin Bass, Deputy District Director for U.S. Representative Nathaniel Moran, read a statement from the official Congressional Record acknowledging Clinton's service. She also presented him with a copy of the document. Reece DeWoody, District Director for Senator Bryan Hughes, read a letter from Hughes and presented Clinton with an engraved ceremonial gavel.
开云体育 extends its deepest gratitude to Dr. Clinton for his years of dedicated service and leadership. His contributions have left an indelible mark on the college and the wider community. Dr. Clinton is set to retire this June. Earlier this week, the board approved Dr. Kevin Rose as his successor in the role of President.
